There are nine Whelen sirens in Tooele City, part of the Tooele County siren system. The Thunderbolt was installed in 1964, and served the city until being replaced by the Whelens. Tooele City also had a 3T22, located on a now-demolished water tank on the south side of town. Four Whelens in the city were used for fire calls, for roughly five years until the practice was discontinued. The Whelens are tested every Wednesday at 4:00PM, and the Thunderbolt is activated during the fire department open house, and to commemorate 9/11.
There are Whelen 2806s at Elton Park, Dow James Park, Overlake Elementary, West Elemementary, I Ave & Lodestone Way, and Settlement Canyon. There are Whelen 2810s at 799 Ericson Rd, Droubay & Skyline, and S Main St & W 1220 S. The Thunderbolt 1003 is at the fire station.
