This siren was installed in 1961, to serve as a fire and civil defense siren for Mapleton. This siren no longer runs for fire calls after a pager system was installed, but still sounds daily at noon, and is ready in case of emergency. This siren previously functioned with a blocked lower intake, but the blockage was removed in 2020.
